Review by hotel critic
The location was indeed perfect, as it was just a stone's throw away from the Kings Head pub and restaurant, where we enjoyed delectable evening meals each night. the convenience of being able to park directly in front of the cottage was certainly a bonus for us, especially after a day of exploring the picturesque surroundings. The facilities within the cottage were adequate for our needs, with access to basic amenities such as a washing machine and ironing facilities. the kitchen was equipped with cookware and kitchen utensils, allowing us to prepare simple meals when we didn't feel like dining out. The cleanliness of the cottage was acceptable, although we did encounter a minor issue with the under stairs cupboard door handle, which the friendly cleaner pointed out to us upon arrival. She advised us to exercise caution when stepping outside the back door due to the potential risk of slipping, a thoughtful gesture that we greatly appreciated. While the cottage itself was cozy and comfortable, it was clear that some areas could benefit from a bit of attention and maintenance. the mattresses, although claimed to be new, seemed slightly worn, and the couches appeared to be on the firmer side. These minor details did not detract significantly from our overall experience, but they were noticeable nonetheless. In terms of dining options, the Kings Head pub offered delicious meals and a pleasant atmosphere, making it a convenient choice for us each evening. Overall, our time at the cottage was enjoyable, thanks to its prime location and basic amenities. While it may not have boasted luxury accommodations, it provided us with a comfortable base for our explorations in the area. If you are looking for a simple, no-frills accommodation in a charming village setting, this cottage may just fit the bill.
